The 'Beauty' of the Road in West Coast.
Between the Districts.
The road where some people might say it is haunted with, well, 'something'. But before that, our sponsor today...wait what? This is not some Youtube video. Well, let's delve into the place, Papar.
History.
So, where is this road? Wait, Papar first.
Located on the West Coast of the beautiful Sabah, this district is located 37 to 40 kilometers from the capital city of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, give or take. Papar, as usual, a district where people do business and mostly lived by the majority population of the Muslim religion. Back in the day and till today, paddy fields and fruit orchards are still the economic development of that district. This district also hosts their railway station, which is one of the stops for Sabah's own State Railway, trains. There are some of the buildings that still keep their own architectural features and preserving their older buildings. Another fact, this place is one might say an extend inland towards Banjaran Crocker. Now, nuff bout history. Let's delve into the roads. Shall we?
Melingsung Hill Road.

Locals of Papar or even Sabahan might know this road. This road that is located near Melingsung Hill, connected Papar to Kota Kinabalu. So what are the stories here? Well, a few.
1. This is mostly the famous one that is told to the society, where many accidents happened here because of one thing. The unfortunate drivers try to avoid 'something' that is crossing the road all of sudden. Freak accidents happened, in this road, here and now.
2. There is one thing those old people would advise them to not do here, which is, hitchhiking people. The situation would be, a driver is driving through this road in heavy rain and would see a woman carrying a baby trying to hitchhiking the driver's car. Upon stopping to help her, the woman will get into the car and asks to go somewhere near here. Driving the car would felt extra heavy, and don't even try to look at the rearview mirror. So there would be something weird that would happen. What will happen? Well, the woman and the baby? Poof, gone. What's left? A banana stem sitting in your back passenger's seat.
3. Same advice with the second one. NEVER, EVER try to hitchhike people, especially in Sabah. On this road, the driver would see someone waving to stop the car. From far away, it looks like a human, a person trying to stop the car to hitchhike it. But when nearing, that human? No hands, no face, wearing sort of white robe. Well, I ask you, is that a human? I don't think so, chief.
4. Late in the night, driving this road would be a unique experience, rarely. Hear it closely, there's a sound....... Someone or something...is....laughing? Yup, that's right, laughing can be heard during driving this road. Time after time, the laughing becomes louder and eventually on top of your car. Drivers are advised to take it slow and not following the fear emotions and starting to drift away, which would lead to accidents, freak accidents.
Papar also has roads that connected to other districts that have some stories of it, not just this road. Such as Jalan Batu 1 or Jalan Andus Well, a story for another day I guess.
